Philanthropy
Making A Difference
The members of Alpha Kappa Nu Fraternity Incorporated hold philanthropy very close to their hearts. Our chapter is pleased to continue our partnerships with various philanthropic organizations in the area, and we are proud to be making a difference in the lives of many.
Serving an underprivileged community which severely lacks a multitude of resources Alpha Kappa Nu feeds needy fanilies as well as homeless citizens within the captial city. We have nade it our duty to provide them with nourishment as well as hygiene products and pamphlets with resources to help get them off the street. During the cold winter months we offer warm home cooked meals as well as blankets and pillows.
As a LGBTQ based organization we work actively with a plethora of health related organizations (My Brothers Keeper, Open Arms Health Clinic, etc...) to bring awareness to many of todays health disparities plaguing our community. We assist by holding forums, passing out leaflets, distributing packages of condoms and lube, and being advocates for healthy living.

Kappa Pantry
Two Saturdays out of a month Alpha Kappa Nu Fraternity Incorporated dispurses lunches and/or dinner to homeless citizens in the downtown area as well as parks. During the winter months we distribute blankets and pillows as well as warm soup.
Community Cleanup
Being that our communities are a reflection of those who occupy them Alpha Kappa Nu Fraternity Incorporated strives to foster pristine neighboorhoods. We can be observed cleaning up parks and apartment complexes through out our city. Our work with Habit For Humanity's effort to do away with abandoned houses and produce homes for less fortunate families can be noted as well.

NU Horizons
Our community outreach services can range anywhere from setting up informational tables at various venues around the city to helping people become registered to vote. Often times our organization distributes what we affectionately call "Kappa Kare Packages". In these small bags are some informative leaflets(Topics range from information about our organization to tips to healthier living), a snack, and condoms. We also have raffles and fundraisers which aid us in procuring funds for the materials we distribute.
